How do I reserve a puppy?

Start by submitting a puppy application. Once approved, you may place a deposit to secure a spot on our waitlist or reserve a puppy.

How does the waitlist work?

Our waitlist is first-come, first-served based on deposit order. However, we reserve the right to match puppies based on temperament and best fit for each home.

When can puppies go home?

-Puppies are ready to go home at 8 weeks of age, unless otherwise discussed.

Are deposits refundable?

No. Deposits are non-refundable unless we are unable to provide a puppy.

Can I transfer my deposit?

Yes, deposits may be transferred to a future litter up to one (1) year from the deposit date if needed.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, Zelle, Venmo, Apple Cash, or other agreed-upon methods.

Do puppies come with a health guarantee?
Yes. All puppies come with:

*72-hour initial health guarantee

*1-year genetic health guarantee
Will my puppy be vaccinated?
Yes. Puppies will be up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, and you will receive a health record.
Do I need to take my puppy to the vet after pickup?
Yes. You must have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of bringing them home.
Are dachshunds good family dogs?
Yes. Dachshunds are loyal, affectionate, and full of personality. They do best in homes that understand their needs and temperament.
Are dachshunds hard to train?
Dachshunds can be independent and stubborn, but with consistency and patience, they can be successfully trained.
Do dachshunds have health concerns?
Dachshunds are prone to back issues (IVDD). Proper care, weight management, and limiting jumping are important for their long-term health.
Do you sell puppies with breeding rights?
Most puppies are sold as pet-only (limited registration). Breeding rights are only given to approved programs.
Do I have to spay or neuter my puppy?
Yes, unless breeding rights are approved. This is outlined in our contract.
What happens if I can no longer keep my dog?
The dog must be returned to Outlaw Dachshunds. We do not allow our dogs to be surrendered to shelters.
What do I need before bringing my puppy home?
You should have:

Food (we will provide details)

Crate or bed

Food & water bowls

Puppy-safe space
Will you help after I take my puppy home?
Yes. We provide ongoing support and are always available to answer questions.
